Camping in the Utah mountain in late May is always a crapshoot. Although average temperatures are from the mid-40s to the mid-70s, this year Mother Nature decided to be below average, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the weekend getaway. One of the good things about camping at 8,400′ is while it was raining at lower elevations, we mostly had some graupel which didn’t stick to the ground. But even with the cold, there was no sense sitting around the campground, so we took a ride to Cedar Breaks National Monument which sits at 10,350′ and a brisk 38 degrees to see its magnificent view, before heading to Panguitch for lunch. The next day, we took a ride to Duck Creek Village for lunch and spent a bit of time (and money) at the local village market. All in all, it was a great weekend getaway.
