Camp with us at the BLM Burro Creek Campground in western Arizona as we remember Foyil Harris who loved to camp here.

Location: Burro Creek Campground is located between Kingman and Wickenburg, Arizona on Hwy 93 at Milepost 140.2. It is 71 miles south of Kingman (only 15 miles south of Wickieup) and 56 miles north of Wickenburg. The Burro Creek Recreation Area sign leads you down a 1.25-mile paved road to the campground. Campground itself is unpaved.

Reservations and Sites: NEW: Reservations must be made 7 days in advance of arrival. Use Recreation.gov to make your reservation. We usually camp in the Lower Inner Loop comprised of Sites 7, 9-17. These sites are Reservable beginning October 1st. Site 12 is Reservable for handicapped. All other sites are First Come, First Served sites which cannot be reserved.

Fees: $14 per night, Gov’t passes honored.

Elevation: 1,960ft. Plan for warm days, nights very cool.

Facilities: Water, fire rings, shaded tables, flush toilets, limited cell service, no electric.

Attractions: Riparian area, birding, hiking, off roading. Scenic desert roads to Yarnell, Bagdad, and Congress. Visit Yavapai 19 Memorial in Yarnell. Watch for frog and duck rocks. Or quiet place to just relax in camp.

Conveniences: Wickieup: 15 miles north has gas stations/stores, Luchia’s restaurant on north side of town. Bagdad: (25 miles southeast) 2 gas stations, local restaurant, and grocery store. Congress: (50 miles south) Dollar store, gasoline and Nichols West restaurant.
