Despite damp weather, it was a very nice campout. A total of 15 campers attended:
From NV: Bob Bencsko, Vic and Maria Moss, Don and Susan Western, Steve and Sao Kastel and Dave Christiansen; from AZ: Carla Sartwell and Robin Petrovsky; and CA: Verne “Ironman” Calvert who at 94 years young is still riding and camping, Jerry Weber and Ray and Judy Koerzendorfer. Tuesday was Judy’s birthday so she brought delicious mini cupcakes which were enjoyed by all around the campfire. We also had the usual “economy” sandwich cookies as a backup. We have sort of an unofficial contest to see who can bring the cheapest storebought cookies. So far, Bob Benscko has had the longest winning streak.
Wednesday a group of 12 had a great ride out to the Paradise Café near Mountain Center for lunch. The roads were a perfect combination of mountain scenery, twisties and straightaways. After a great meal sitting outside, we headed back via a different route to cap off a very enjoyable ride.
Thursday morning most broke camp after saying their goodbyes, headed for home due to threatening weather forecasted for Thursday night and Friday. Thanks to all for making it an enjoyable campout and hope to see you around the
