There have been some really good articles about this campout on our Facebook page submitted by those who were there.
The weather was ideal for the length of the campout with days in the 80s and nights in the 50s and 60s, making for great sleeping temperatures. During the days campers enjoyed visiting around the individual campsites and evenings were spent around the campfire. On Saturday there was a nice car show in the boat parking lot with free hamburgers and hot dogs served at the waterfront café and a live band in the evening.
Denise Greene brought several varieties of really incredible home-baked brownies which were passed around the campfire Friday and Saturday evenings. Saturday we were treated by host Jim & Nancy to several flavors of the best cobbler anywhere made in camp on their dutch ovens. They were served with ice cream and even oreos. It was interesting to watch some of the ladies put together the ingredients and Jim stacking the ovens on top of each other. They really didn’t take all that long to cook to perfection.

Wylie Coyote had a previous engagement; he explained that springtime marks the beginning of coyote mating season and he had some serious “howling” he needed to do. Hope he gets it out of his system in time for Oak Grove next month.
