SUMMARY:Al Hughes Memorial Campout
DESCRIPTION:When: July 16-19\, 2026\nWhere: The Orchard\n235 S Second East\nHelper\, Utah 84526 \nCome early and stay late. \nThere is space for RVs by the house and in the orchard. \nShowers: There are free showers at the house. There are also showers at the pool across the street. The pool will be open from noon to 6 PM. Cost is unknown at this time. \nBathrooms are are located in the house. We will get an outhouse if we have a large crowd. \nDogs.  Your dog is welcome to stay in the orchard. \nConveniences: All conveniences in Helper. \nWhere to eat: Balance Rock Eatery\, Helper Beer (great pizzas)\, Angel’s food truck. Happiness within has great coffee and snacks. \nMore fun stuff to do: There are great roads to ride and trails to hike. Ghost towns are up Spring Canyon.  Some of the art galleries will be open. The Lincoln Hotel has old Harleys for your to view. The Helper Museum has over 40 rooms displaying everything from mining equipment to railroad items to a bordello room to Americana history\, to mine disasters. \nActivities: Hot dog dinner on Friday\, helper hotdog will be provided. Saturday night will be a potluck or biker stew and a toast to Al.

After milepost 430\, turn right on the Sunset Crater Volcano–Wupatki Loop Road\, (look for the sign to the Sunset Crater National Monument). This weekend will be the peak of the Perseids Meteor Shower and with the dark skies\, the night show should be amazing. There are several easy walking trails in the National Monument\, and the Grand Canyon National Park South Rim (east entrance) is approximately 70 miles away. \nWhat to Bring: Hosts will provide chilidogs on Friday night and bring wood for a group fire pit. Individual fires are not allowed. There is drinking water in the campground\, otherwise\, bring whatever you need for a great weekend getaway\, and bring side dishes for Friday if you can. \nElevation and Weather Notes: The campground sits at 7\,000 feet so expect cool nights and pleasant days.

DESCRIPTION:Location: Wildcat Landing Campground\, 11011 State 26\, Brownsville\, MN 55919. \nCamp Phone: 507-482-6250 \nComments: Located in historic River Bluff country\, 1/2 mile south of Brownsville\, MN on Highway 26. The campground has a nice shower house with flush toilets. The campsites have picnic tables\, fire rings\, and we have a shelter. Firewood and ice is available. There are restaurants in the area and a good burger bar just down the road. There is a bar in town which serves excellent pizza also.\nCamp on the shore of the Mighty Mississippi. Watch the river traffic during the day and tow boats at night. Explore scenic roads winding through the valleys and over bluffs.\nCost is $50. Electric but can share\, $25 for tent sites. \nWe plan a group campfire each night and a potluck on Saturday evening. DESCRIPTION:Hosts: Dara & Louie Kell\nEmail: preferred method of communications.   Darakell22@yahoo.com\nWhen: September 15 (Tuesday) to September 17 (Thursday).\nLocation: This is a Corps of Engineers campground.  Salt Lick Creek Campground\, 520 Salt Lick Park LN\, Gainesboro\, TN 38562.\nWeb site: www.recreation.gov or call 1-877-444-6777 but online works best.\nCost: All sites have electric and water.  $26.00 for Lake Front\, $22.00 for non-lake front.  Sites may be shared between 2 vehicles and 2 camping units.  Remember ½ price for Senior Pass holders.\nThere is a covered pavilion\, showers\, laundry and wonderful beach.  Bathrooms are very close to the site we are planning to reserve.\nReservations may be made middle of March.  We are planning to reserve site #56.  When making your reservation if you want to be in the same location\, pick a site near #56.\nDirections:  From Gainesboro\, head west on TN-53 S/W Hull Ave toward S Union St for 0.6 miles.  Turn right onto TN-262 (which turns into 85) for 9.3 miles.  Turn left onto Smith Bend Ln for 1 mile.  Turn right onto Salt Lick Park Ln for 0.6 mile.  Arrive at Salt Lick Creek Campground on Left.\nAttractions” Riding roads in this area are amazing with lots of twists and turns and many are on little paved lanes.  Restaurants in the area\, Fays (closes at noon) (a mom and pops dinner) in downtown Gainesboro\, inexpensive and cash only.  A very good Mexican place and good Italian are just N of Gainesboro on HWY 56.  Hellen’s\, S of Gainesboro on 56\, with fantastic food.\nWhat to bring: Pot luck on Thursday night at the pavilion.  Please bring a dish to share\, your plate and silverware.  We will supply hot dogs\, buns and all the fixins.

It is locked before that time for site cleaning. \nDirections: Travel 7 miles east of Prescott\, AZ on Highway 69. Turn south at Arco Station\, onto Walker Road. Drive south on Walker Road for about 3 miles. Continue past the Lynx Campground. Turn left at Southshore Marina and Eagle Ridge Group Camp sign. Followed by immediate left turn (about 200 feet) into first group camping area.\nCampground: All roads are paved. This group site has a covered lighted ramada (to hide under in case of monsoon rains). 10 tables\, 6 BBQ grills\, large group fire ring\, vault toilets\, and 2 drinking water faucets. Limited electricity to charge cell phones. Cell service: marginal. No showers. A total of 13 parking spaces for motorcycles\, cars and/or tent trailers. One handicap parking space. There are 3 RV trailer parking spaces for vehicles less than 35 feet. Prior to campout please contact IBMC host Carla about RV availability. Tent trailers must park on paved spaces. There are 4 leveled group tent pads and several single leveled tent pads adjacent to ramada.\nFees: Camping fees are shared by campers\, about $20 for total 3-night stay.\nRemarks: Elevation: 5\,600ft. Possible monsoon showers\, carry rain gear. Days are 75F degrees. Nights are cool\, about 50F\, bring warm sleeping bag and clothes. Evening entertainment includes telling old stories and new stories around the group fire ring. Music by the local coyotes\, Wylie’s cousins.\nConveniences: Costco Store/Gasoline\, Walmart\, Trader Joes all within 4 miles. Numerous restaurants: German food at Lynx Lake\, Wildflower Bread Company\, Panera Food\, In and Out Burger\, Olive Garden\, many fast-food places in Prescott and Prescott Valley on Highway 69. Hardware stores nearby.\nAttractions: In Prescott\, famous Whiskey Row\, antique stores and museums\, Lynx Creek Indian Ruin\, boat rentals at North Marina of Lynx Lake. Ride the twisty roads over Mingus Mountain (Hwy 89A North) to Jerome ghost town\, Sedona’s red rocks\, and Flagstaff’s volcanic 12\,000ft peaks. On the way: Verde Canyon Railroad in Clarkdale\, Blazing M Ranch in Cottonwood for dinner show\, Verde Valley wineries\, more Indian ruins like Tuzigoot\, Montezuma’s Well and Castle. Stroll around Fort Verde historic Army fort of 1870.
